To cut down on unnecessary calls from people driving by your field or land, call the Stoddard County Sheriff’s department at 573-568-4654 before you start your controlled burn. Let them know when and where you will be burning. They in turn the Sheriff's department will get more information from callers to make sure we are not responding to your controlled burn.  We responded several times to rural fires last year only to find the landowner burning his field or trash. This cost the landowner and the fire department time and money. Please remember to burn safe and responsibly.

Remember fire in unpredicticable it can strike at any time and for this small fee you can feel more secure in fire service. This is your fire department. With your support we will be able to provide you with adequate protection. We wish to express our thanks for the support you have given us in the past and hope that we can count of your continued support.
