Minutes
The Library Board Meeting was held on Monday, February 22nd. Present were: Brenda Pruitt, Sue Welborn, Howard Hopkins, Kim Johnson, and Sheri Parks. The meeting was called to order by President Brenda Pruitt. Kim Johnson voted to accept the consent agenda. Sheri 2nd. The motion was unanimous.
Director’s Report: The city charged us $498.02 for a generator for the building and also $264 for installation.
The census is using the community room for a training room.
The Librarian, Linda Meyers, is going to the City Council tonight for approval to apply for the Federal Grant money which is open to libraries. Our computers are getting old and need updating and replacing. Shelton has offered to sell us updates. Sheri has suggested talking to our computer expert, Wade Griffin before we make decisions.
March 8, Linda will be attending the summer reading program at Cape Girardeau. The board urged her to put a mileage request in rather than eat the cost herself.
Old Business
The Library Board will celebrate National Library Week on the week of April 11 -17. One of the events will be a workshop on Saving Money. Open House will be Sunday April 11from 2:00p. -4:00p.m. We will have a book signing by a local author at the open house, refreshments and door prizes. We will also be planning after school event with Jo Jo the clown.
New Business
The next meting will be March 22, 2010. Howard Hopkins moved to adjourn. Sue 2nd. The motion passed.
