·       By maintaining a Fire Dept, insurance rates are kept down.
·       For each fire a fire report will be available for your insurance company
·       Insurance companies usually pay only up to $500.00 for the fire call and the property owner is responsible for anything over that amount. Your membership covers ALL fire calls to your residence.

How to report a fire:

·       For the quickest response- Dial 911

·       You may also call the Stoddard Co Sheriffs Dept at 573-568-4654 and they will page us out. We are dispatched from the Stoddard co E-911 and the Stoddard Co Sheriff’s office. Be prepared to give accurate directions to the scene of the fire, including address and the name of property owner and or resident.

·       Remain calm
·       If further information is needed give it as quickly and clearly as possible.
·       NON-Emergency calls call Bloomfield Fire Department at 573-568-4300

To cut down on unnecessary calls from people driving by your field or land call the Stoddard County Sheriff’s department at 573-568-4654 anytime you have a controlled burn. Please notify them before you start your controlled burn and let them know when and where you will be burning. They in turn will get more information from callers to make sure we are not responding to your controlled burn.  We responded several times to rural fires last year only to find the landowner burning his field or trash. This cost the landowner and the fire department time and money. Please remember to burn safe and responsibly.

Remember fire in unpredicticable it can strike at any time and for this small fee you can feel more secure in fire service. This is your fire department. With your support we will be able to provide you with adequate protection. We wish to express our thanks for the support you have given us in the past and hope that we can count of your continued support.

If you have any questions on the new rural fire tag program please call Kenneth Johnson Fire Chief or Michael Smith Assistant Chief at 573-568-4300 or Bloomfield City Hall at 573-568-3464 for more information.
